This is great Jacin! I had an engaged friend on facebook sharing her ideas about mason jars for her upcoming wedding via a status and the girl’s sister in law commented telling her they were an outdated idea- so not cool! Hopefully she doesn’t listen to her! Love it! :)

AMEN!!!! Why do people feel the need to belittle or pick on people for their wedding choices? The hardest part of wedding planning has been the people passing judgment!

I love it! I always think of you when I see this mason jar “controversy” stuff, hehe. We are using mason jars at our wedding and I’m PROUD OF IT!

Ok I’m not in the wedding blog world but I’ve been hearing about this mason jar backlash… what is UP with that? Come on, peeps… first of all, mason jars are adorable. My great-grandmother had rows and rows of them on shelving in her kitchen… my grandmother used them to drink sweat tea out of… they are (as we speak) gracing my dining room table with a pretty assortment of fall flowers. They’re adorable! And second of all, why does anyone else care what someone chooses for their wedding decor? Makes no sense to me…. So you preach it, girl!

Just plan your wedding….don’t tell everyone your plans….they will all be “surprised” on the big day!!!!!

Mason jars have been MY family’s crystal pattern for generations. They are always appropriate and wonderfully reusable . I approve!

We used them at our outdoor/picnic wedding 2+ years ago as vases and… [gasp]… as giveaways! I made 50+ half-pints of jam and that was our gift to our guests. We still get the little jars back from friends. We didn’t do it to be kitchy or trendy – it was a frugality thing and matched our goal to have an environmentally friendly and sustainable wedding. Mason jars as vases matched the outdoorsy setting.

If people don’t like the decor of a wedding, then they can pay for the flowers or keep their traps shut.
