{florals, planning + design by lovely little details, images by stacey hedman}
this wedding (featured on style me pretty a few weeks back) has taken me so long to actually blog because it was so hard to pick my favorite images from the hundreds that the incredibly talented photographer, stacey hedman (and her second shooter jaq poussot) provided to me. many of you may know this already but if you don’t – i. love. film. photography. and if every one of my couples chose film for their wedding day? that’d just be the icing on the prettiest wedding cake you ever did see. not that i don’t love digital, don’t get me wrong. but film? it’s just so timeless, so real, so grainy, and raw. i just love it. so much. and so when e+a let me know that they ended up booking stacey as their photographer, my film-loving heart did a double flip. many of you may know erika as the gorgeous gal behind not only the design/interiors blog radiant republic, but also the owner and founder of cape nanny, which just recently launched! and her husband? co-founder of a soon-to-be-launched outerwear company focused on the elements. together they’re not only business saavy but they’re also absolutely beautiful inside and out.
erika actually booked me over a year out from her wedding day so we had a lot of time to refine the vision, talk details, and excitedly plan for the big celebration. she wanted to create something that infused her love of clean design with kate spade and her now-husband’s love of surfing and nature. armed with over 10 boxes of flowers and a carry-on bag filled with shells that i had painted gold, i flew to cape cod in preparation for erika + andrew’s wedding weekend. it was an intimate affair with their nearest and dearest in attendance and every detail, every word, every moment was so sentimental not only for the couple, but those in attendance (and those in the heart).
here are some of my favorite shots from the big day, from the details, to the florals, to the gorgeous wedding party themselves. enjoy!
erika created the cutest signs for their surfboard guest book and the gals at suite paperie custom designed little gold surfboards with orange and navy “tags” to be used as escort cards. andrew provided me with a bag of sand (which was a hilarious transaction by the way) and i added some natural elements along with the golden seashells to create a fun first impression for guests entering the reception area.
we wanted to infuse the wedding with not only natural elements but also those of cape cod, like lobstah traps, cranberry crates (thanks stacey! haha), and nautical navy & white stripes. but the wedding also took place in october, so we incorporated a bit of autumnal flair, like creamy white ghost pumpkins and orange/peach accent colors throughout. see that pretty sign up there? erika designed that, too!
many saw my multiple instagrams throughout the planning season last year but the gilded shells were what people seemed to be most excited about. i was happy to finally debut these beauts throughout erika & andrew’s wedding decor.
if you’re planning a kate spade-infused wedding, what better way than to rock a pair of gold glitter kate spade heels? stunners.
this bouquet. oh this bouquet. no joke it probably took me 3-hours from start to finish but i didn’t want to put it down until i was completely satisfied from every angle and knew for certain that erika would like it. i wrapped the handle with a gilded nautical rope and went to bed in the wee hours of the morning, excited to hand it off in just a few short hours. sure enough, as soon as i walked through the door on the morning of the wedding, bouquet in hand, erika started to cry the happiest tears only a wedding planner and bride can fully appreciate and understand. it was such a special moment for me – i felt like i had given her something i had created with all of my heart and soul. it sounds corny but it’s seriously the truth.
and the boutonnieres! these were so much fun. i literally wired cranberries on to the bouts for the guys (i mean how do you have a wedding in cape cod and not incorporate cranberries!) and tied the groom’s boutonniere with the thinnest nautical rope i could find as a nod to his love for sailing. i also (sorry wequassett!) got up early that morning to clip a few leaves from the beach plum bushes right there on the beach, because beach plum roses truly exemplify the shore, and the guys each wore a tiny piece of the wequasset that day.
the girls all wore the most amazing anne m cramer skirts in navy and white stripes and i designed their bouquets to infuse shades of peach / orange / green as a bright pop against the somewhat muted, nautical palette.
the ceremony arrangements might have been my fave yet. i loved how they looked against the beautiful backdrop at the wequassett. fun fact – i had to re-design these arrangements about 4 times and then finally bribed my friends jon and aaron (the guitarists for the ceremony and cocktail hour, ja2m) to help me wire them to the crates/fence! it is funny now but that day i was getting a bit worried that we might not have ceremony florals if they kept blowing over! haha
stacey captured me watching the wedding party portraits for a minute. i think the look on my face says it all – i am always so honored to play a part in every wedding and try to take a moment in between the logistics to just watch for a minute. it makes me happy to see how happy everyone else is. this is also right before i booked it back to the reception space so we could repurpose the ceremony florals!
i used weathered wooden boxes filled with ranunculus, dahlias, and about 15 other flowers for the table centerpieces, switched out with glass cylinders filled with sand and topped with succulents and orange pincushion protea. i also incorporated the gold & copper sprayed pumpkins throughout the reception
lastly, some wedding party photos :
thank you again erika & andrew for including me in your big day. and thank you to the friends & family who made me feel like part of the crew. xo

Oh Jacin!! This is the sweetest post and it was so special reliving the day when reading along! (For the record, I teared up again just thinking about the moment I saw my bouquet!!) I also love seeing all of the behind the scenes details about which I had no idea! (Like JA2M helping to secure the ceremony arrangements!) The day was a true labor of love and my family, Andrew and I are so very lucky to have had you there. Thank you again for every lovely detail and gesture, which were anything but “little.” :)

Loving all these gorgeous details, but it’s the navy and white stripe that just kills me!

Jacin, this is one of my favorite weddings of yours. I think it’s because so much of your heart and soul is evident in every little detail. I absolutely love it.
