Bride Guide: If At First You Don’t Succeed…Trial, Trial Again
source

Today’s Bride Guide Tip is simple - if you don’t like it, try again!  This can relate to several wedding planning components but what I am mostly referring to is your hair and makeup trial.  You want to look your best on your wedding day - don’t be afraid to tell your stylist that you don’t like what you see.  Even for those who do not like confrontation, this is one of those times when you just need to speak up!

Easier said than done, I know, but trust me on this one.  You may need a few trials before you find the look that is perfect for you, but in the end, you’ll feel even more comfortable and confident on your wedding day when you’re happy with how you look!

Amen! It took me two visits before I fell in love with my hairstyle. When every picture of the entire day is going to have you in it, you'd better love the way you look!

I've already had one makeup trail and one hair trial (thank goodness for lots of time to plan)…I loved my hair, and kind of liked my makeup, but now my hair is darker and I want to try other things with both my hair/makeup. Once I purchase my veil or hair piece, I will have another hair trial, and having another makeup trial on 2/19! it stinks to have to pay again, but it's worth it so I can nail the right look for the big day.

Such good advice. It's hard to tell someone you don't like it, but living with a style that's just not right seems crazy!

I went for one hair and makeup trial together at the same place. Loved the hair, half up half down, but ended up changing it a little on the day of with all up and a little side swept bang. Hated the makeup they did and ended up doing my own makeup! Like Jacin said ladies…trust yourself.

I had so little money and wedding planning time that I didn't do hair or makeup trials. In the end I was okay with my makeup but I wish I'd gone to someone else…the woman that did it refused to give me the smokey eye look that I wanted :( I actually ended up going home and touching up my eye makeup myself, but it could have and probably would have looked better had I done trials and found the RIGHT makeup artist.

My hair was another story! I know my hairdresser very well-she has dyed my roots once every two months for over three years now-so when she did my updo and it didn't look quite right, I had no problem picking at it until it was perfect :) Took a little longer than we expected but I loved my "wedding hair" more than words can describe.

I wholeheartedly agree with this advice! I went to my first hair trial and it literally fell out 5 minutes after the girl left… she came highly reviewed, so I’m not sure if she had an “off day” or what, but I feel like I dodged a bullet on that one. Second hair trial with someone else was FABULOUS! Also had a makeup trial which was good because I ended up requesting a few adjustments for the big day. Loved, loved, loved my hair and makeup and am so glad that I had trials for both of them, because they turned out exactly how I wanted on my wedding day.

One piece of advice I would give to brides is that if you can schedule your engagement pics for the same day as your trials, not only will you look fabulous in your pics but it’s a great way to see how the makeup and hair will show up in pictures!
