Things I love: love, bright colors, sunshine, pretty happy faces. OK, everything about today’s shoot is what I love. Submitted by the amazingly talented {and super sweet} Danielle Capito of Danielle Capito Photography, these images just make me happy. I kind of needed this today, didn’t you?
Vanessa and Daniel met down at San Diego State and now live in San Luis Obispo. They are fun, spunky people {with some great fashion sense} and they’re getting married this September at an old mission with a reception afterwards in a ballroom. I seriously cannot wait to see their wedding pictures! But first, let’s take a look at their gorgeous, sunny engagement shoot. Or as I call it: Why You Should Get an Engagement Shoot. And keep reading to hear their advice to other couples, and all about their engagement :)
I know, right?? Love that shoe pic. Shoe pics get me every time.
The Proposal
On October 7, 2010, Daniel decided to take Vanessa out to dinner for her 27th birthday. Little did she know, Daniel had been planning for 3 months to propose on this night.
Daniel took Vanessa to one of her favorite restaurants, The Galley, in Morro Bay. During dinner, Vanessa didn’t seem to notice anything unusual about Daniel…except that he was drinking more than usual! She thought, “he must’ve had a hard day at work.” When dinner came to an end, Vanessa was full from dinner but Daniel insisted on Vanessa ordering dessert. Instead of dessert, the waitress came out with a plate with a beautiful flower, a red box and a card that asked, “Will you marry me?” Vanessa immediately started crying into her hands and eventually said yes without opening the red ring box! Daniel pleaded, “You didn’t even open the box.” She responded, “I don’t care what the ring looks like…of course I’ll marry you.” At that moment, Daniel and Vanessa were engaged… and Vanessa finally looked at the ring and thought it was perfect.
From Vanessa & Daniel: When engaged, cherish your time together. This is the beginning of a new chapter of your lives together!
Advice to other couples:
- Have a date night at least once a week, no matter how busy your schedule is.
- Never keep track of score (who did what for who, who’s fault is it, etc…)
- Take care of each other and love each other.
Thank you guys for sharing your images with us today, and Danielle, thanks for submitting, you are amazing!
