{lld event} mark & sarah’s maine wedding: before and after & behind the scenes

i’m a sucker for house renovation and makeover shows because i love seeing the transformation between “before” and “after”. and though i can’t quite share all of mark & sarah’s wedding pictures yet, i can give a little glimpse in to their day in the form of some before and after shots. {all professional images by stacey hedman, instagram and before shots by me, i’m lovelydetails on instagram if you want to follow along}

the above picture was taken the night we arrived. the barn was casting a magical glow from the cafe lights and i couldn’t wait to get my hands dirty the next day, scrounging for old wood and “props” for the decor in the rafters!

the image on the left in the picture above depicts the barn on the morning of the wedding. i ran around like a madwoman that day, and two of the bride’s father’s friends (and fellow members of the golf course) helped me string things from the rafters and move tables around. thank goodness for extra hands!

{found this little luck charm outside the barn on the morning of their wedding. did i mention i find 4-leaf clovers everywhere?}

speaking of climbing through the rafters - i was rustling through old windowpanes and leftover “stuff” and came across these. i thought they could make a perfect “frame” for our bar menu to hang on the back of the bar.

i purchased all kinds of paper in mark & sarah’s preferred wedding colors - mustard yellow, teal, and pink, and used some of the pretty paper to create a photobooth backdrop. i had all of the circles pre-cut and enlisted the help of one of the bride’s friends to help me string them. this added some dimension to the back of the photobooth area, and also separated it from the bar area so people knew where to stand. and of course we had to use another empty frame for the photobooth. are those two grandmas not the cutest ladies ever? love them.

can’t wait to show you more, very soon! if you like this “before and after” stuff like me, let me know and i’ll share more from other events (and you can bet i’m always sharing the “in the process” pics on instagram!)

happy thursday!

    You did wonders with that bare barn! It turned out great. Those bright colors look good against all those wooden beams. Finding clovers-Guess you are lucky!
