happy monday everyone! how was your weekend? we had a nice sunny weekend here in san francisco, and it was even warm enough to bust out the summer dresses and shorts, which I was particularly excited about. this weekend flew by as always, but it was great. I had a few flower orders to deliver on friday morning, and have a quick funny story on that. our 8-month old australian shepherd puppy rhody loves to go for rides in the car, so when I went down to load the car with the flowers, of course he jumped right in. I figured it wouldn’t be a problem, he’s content sitting and watching the world go by, making lovely little nose prints on the windows that I end up washing off about 1x week :). so rhody and I are driving to deliver the flowers and I get out to hand a bouquet to the bride & groom, leaving the door open. who decides to jump on out and start happily trotting down the street in the financial district of san francisco? yep, my pup. luckily someone walking by snagged his collar and he came back, but I learned that maybe next time I might want to leave him home for deliveries. or at least close the door right away :) it was hilarious though, he was just nonchalantly walking down the street with a big old smile on his face while I tried to play it cool, delivering the flowers and half-running down the block after him!

other than that, here’s what I was up to this weekend:

  • I had a saturday full of site visits in St. Helena, Calistoga & Yountville (wine country). one of my 2013 brides and her mother flew in from austin to decide on their venue, and I had a full day lined up for them. before I picked them up though, I stocked the car with waters, party straws, and because I was about an hour early, I picked up some Bouchon macarons as well. driving up to wine country bright and early on that sunny saturday morning I had one of those “pinch me” moments where I was so happy to be doing what I was doing, nothing could bring me down :) I had bruce springsteen blaring on the radio, sunroof open, and a huge grin. ever have moments like that? it was awesome - and the bride and her mother were sweet as can be, I can’t wait to share more on that wedding soon.
  • on sunday, I had a list full of to-dos and got up early to get some work done. but then I had a little realization that this was pat’s day off too - why was I going to spend the whole day working when I had a whole week ahead of me to get it done? so I put down the circle cutter and double-sided tape for my DIY capiz shell chandeliers for C&C’s wedding, and we hit the road to check out bay to breakers for a short bit, then came back to our neighborhood to take rhody for a nice long walk.

it was such a great weekend - I hope you all had a nice one too! see ya back here later this week :)

What a great weekend! I love that you’re living your ‘happy life’. We have two chihuahuas and they would have absolutely jumped out of the car, too. So much exploring to do, so little time.

The Rhody story made me laugh, such an Aussie! :) Sunday does similar things all the time. Sounds like a lovely weekend, mine was spent avoiding any and all NATO protesters, haha.

Love how you and I both were busy creating DIY Capiz Shell chandeliers at the same time! Would love to see yours and love that you used to 2 sided tape, I used a glue gun and my fingers felt it! ;) LOL!!! Beautiful pictures, as always!!!

Swooning over all those gorgeous wine country locations, and an excuse to grab a Bouchon macaron!
