winter inspiration: paper! {guest blogger paper moss}

by jacin on December 14, 2010

from Jacin: I’m so happy to have Emily Hostetler & Anna Fenno from Paper Moss over again today for the winter inspiration series.  They’re both so talented and I always know the posts are in good hands when they’re behind the scenes!  If you haven’t already, make sure to check them out! (websiteblog, facebook, twitter)

from Emily & Anna: There is something bold and uniquely romantic about a winter wedding. When Jacin asked us to post some winter inspirations for stationery, we immediately knew that we needed to share with you some ideas for how to put a winter spin on your invite suite.  So folks, here they are:

1. Make your Save the Date multi-purpose.  Attach a customized tag to a winter-themed ornament.  Your loved ones will not only get the info, but also a fun keepsake to enjoy for years to come.

2. Add a winter motif to your monogram.  There are countless ways to do this and it really sets the scene for your big day.  Here are a few “inspirational” ideas…

Design #1 - Simple, rustic, classic - a design like this has a lot of versatility and would be fun to lightly incorporate pine cones in the day-of decor.
Design #2 - Modern, bold, fun - inspired by the shape of a snowflake, this design is basic enough to carry throughout the year.
Design #3 - Incorporate something about your venue or city that could represent ‘winter’.  For example, if you’re getting married in a place like Aspen, CO or Whistler, Canada, try incorporating some skis or show shoes into your monogram or invite suite.

3. Have some holiday sparkle. {Note the difference between glitter and shimmer.}  Dress up the winter feel with shimmer paper.  Shimmer paper is usually subtle and elegant, as opposed to glitter… but we won’t rule that out quite yet.  Mixing metallic colors (shown below) can be an elegant way to add a festive flair.

Shimmer paper = LOVE! And the multi-purpose save-the-date with an ornament (P.S. that snowflake you featured is gorgeous) is such a neat, festive idea! Lovely as always Emily and Anna! :)

Although I'm already married, I love looking at wedding inspiration blogs to get me thinking about how to decorate the home. Secretly, I always wanted a winter wedding, but the timing just didn't work right.

I'm loving those ornaments! Such a great idea!

Jacin, thanks so much for your lovely comment. I look forward to reading more!
