Rustic & Pretty Portland Wedding: Liz & Corey {Jill Thomas Photography}

by jacin on March 9, 2011

Those who know me know that I am rarely speechless.  That would be a gift to some, at times :). But today’s wedding literally leaves me without words (ok give me a few seconds because you know I’ll find something to say!). The amazing color palette, gorgeous bridal gown handmade by her mother, perfectly mismatched {yes, there’s such a thing} bridesmaid gowns, stunning location, and just overload of pretty is almost too much to handle. And the lovely bride, Liz, behind all of the magic planned her heart out to create a day that was just simply… perfect. Oh, and lucky us, because we get to escape in the loveliness through their gorgeous photographs from the amazingly talented Jill Thomas Photography.
Liz and Corey were married… and what a wedding full of love it was. Surrounded by their closest friends and family and married under a tree set within a vineyard, their wedding was something out of a movie; a perfect love story.
Liz’s mother, Elizabeth Kollo, is a fashion designer and made Liz’s dress for her. All Liz had to say was that she wanted cap sleeves and heavy lace, and her mother took it from there. The dress fit perfectly and was one of the most romantic dresses I’ve ever seen.
The bridesmaids all wore different dresses in shades of coral and the mismatched-matchiness (new term) just worked.
What great shoe style they all have!

And then there’s the guys…lookin’ good, aren’t they?

Liz and Corey did a “first look”…

The setting for their wedding and reception, David Hill Winery, was such a serene setting for this laid back, vintage affair.

The flowers were done by Liz’s talented mother, cousin and aunt, and birch bark vases tied the rustic and natural feel together.

A few of the polaroids…

The night continued on under the twinkling lights strung across the yard and ended just as it began - with lots of love, plus a brand new bride and groom (and a french fry cart!!)
Thank you Liz and Corey for sharing your special day with us, and Jill Thomas for sharing your gorgeous images!  Congrats and best wishes to you :)

Love the twine on the napkins, that great shade of pink on the dresses, the late night french fry snack and love the idea of letting each girl wear a different pair of shoes. But I have to say some of those heels are a little too chunky. The one girl with the platforms, not digging those. But i absolutely love the idea of variation in a bridal party's attire! Overall, what a fun and beautiful wedding!

I love the "mis-matched matchiness" of the bridesmaid dresses! Kind of wish I would have done something like that.

After seeing all these pictures, I wish I was friends with the bride! I loved all of it. Beautifully done!! From working at a cleaners, I have to point out that I hope she gets the gown cleaned asap! It's beautiful and should have the opportunity to be passed on to another generation or kept in mint condition as a perfect addition to all the memories from that day. Best wishes to the couple and their families!
