Sponsored guest post from WeddingStamps.us.

Custom postage stamps are continuing to grow in popularity for wedding invitations, save the date cards, RSVP cards and even thank you cards for wedding gifts. Custom postage allows you to choose the style and size of the postage stamp used on your invites. This gives couples a great way to coordinate the postage on the outside of their envelope with the style and color of the invitation inside. Here are a few of the thousands of designs to choose from (you can even create your own):

Custom Postage Stamps

Before you choose buy custom postage stamps for your invitations here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Know the exact postage price needed. Take a fully addressed, fully assembled invite to your local post office. Based on the weight and dimensions of your letter, they will tell you what stamp price you need (many invites require $0.64 or $0.84 cent stamps.). The last thing you want is to see your invitations returned to you due to insufficient postage.
  • Custom postage stamps are available for all first-class rates. This is important because the post office only has a handful of designs available at each rate. Custom stamp designs can be created for any of the first-class rates, including stamps for postcards (which are great for save the dates & RSVP cards). This means that you can use any design on your wedding mailings.
  • Hand cancelling isn’t required with custom postage. Custom wedding postage uses a special technology so your letters won’t be postmarked ensuring your wedding invitations arrive looking beautiful.

I love wedding stamps. They are so cute. I agree that they also add something special to the invitation. The dress with the pink background is my favorite!

So wish I had thought of this for our wedding. I am a huge fan of pretty postage… the post office I go to always has new options to show me when I come in!!

Don’t ask me why, but I saw a photo of Hugh Hefner’s wedding invites and he’d used a photo of himself and his future bride for their stamps. While I’m a fan of an icon from your wedding (how adorable would you wedding logo look on a stamp?), photos are so sweet!

We used zazzle for our wedding stamps and they turned out perfectly! It was a great little detail that most mentioned and noticed!
