A Pretty Awesome Gift for the Blogging Bride {and a funny video from this weekend}

by jacin on May 9, 2011

Hi guys!

Did you all have a good weekend? I hope so!

I had such a great weekend. I was so so happy to be back east with my family and catch up with my cousins, while we whisked my cousin on her bachelorette party and shower. We took her on a surprise trip to Block Island, then stayed for a night at my parents beach house in Rhode Island, then back to Connecticut yesterday for her shower at my parents house. It was a total whirlwind weekend but so much fun, too. Girls weekends are mandatory. That’s my thought, anyways!

So of course I will share some of the lovely little details from the festivities, but first I need to share with you my birthday gift that my brother gave me (a little late but that’s how it works when you live across the country). P.S. Please forgive the iPhone pics, it’s the best I could do this weekend without my regular camera.

Do you see what it is? Want a closer look inside? Ok, fine…

Yes, you guessed it. It is my blog {pre- Lovely Little Details, back in the day when it was She Said Yes!}, and my brother was able to use a program called SharedBook to pull all of my posts and put it in to a book! I don’t know how he found it but what I do know is I am so excited, because now all of my planning posts are saved in a real hard copy book, as though it is a journal, and it is such an amazing keepsake!

Thank you Todd so much for this awesome gift! The best part was when I opened it, I said “I am totally blogging about this tomorrow” :)

If you want to create a lovely little book like this for yourself, or a friend, all you need is the username and password and SharedBook will do the rest of the work for you!

Oh, and in other news, while on Block Island we rented mopeds and it was a hilarious experience. Here we were in our little cardigans and cute sandals, with these huge Mario Brothers-type helmets on, flying around the island at a speed of 5 miles/hour. And here’s what happened when I tried to videotape the experience while driving :)

Don’t worry, I wasn’t hurt, it sounds worse than it really was :)

Did you know Lovely Little Details has a sister blog now? Go take a look at Darling Little Details and let me know what you think over there :)

That is so cool! I’m going to order one after the wedding planning posts on my blog are all done! What a nice hard copy of all your months’ hard work.

That’s such an awesome idea! I definitely have to do that once my wedding is over and I’ve recapped the heck out of it. I also have to send this to my bridesmaid who has embraced that words are going digital, but paper books are still wonderful for so many things.

Sounds like you had a great weekend! Congrats to your cousin!

Your brother is so sweet!! The book was a great idea. I wish I had done a pre-wedding blog because I can’t remember half of my planning now even though it was my LIFE! lol

I remember some of those posts! Love “growing up” with you! Such a sweet (and tear inducing?) gift:) And the video is hilarious - what won’t bloggers go through to capture sweet memories?

Omg! What a thoughtful gift! I never would have thought to turn a blog into a book but it would be a great keepsake! Your sister blog is so wonderful because I too get baby fever, though not trying or expecting yet. I can’t wait to see more!

What an amazing idea! Nice to be able to actually flip through something tangible in your hand so you can remember it all and not have to turn on the computer every time.
