A Peach & Blue Wedding {Camille’s Color Inspiration}

by Camille on August 16, 2011

I’ve been engaged just over two weeks (so exciting!). This means I’ve been wedding dreaming and scheming just over two weeks. And I haven’t really made any progress yet. I feel like I change my mind everyday! I’m trying not to get discouraged, so instead I created this pretty peach and blue color inspiration board. I probably will not be doing peach and blue for our wedding, as we are probably getting married late, late summer or early fall of 2012 and I’ll probably due a deeper, richer color scheme. However, if the wedding was any earlier this would most likely be the colors of our choice!

What your favorite wedding color combinations?

And if you have any tips for me on how to narrow down my ideas and begin real wedding plans, please send them my way! I’m all ears :)

The Details: 1. Setting - Sweet & Saucy Shop,  2. Flowers - Wedding Chicks, 3. Ring Shot - The Nichols via SMP, 4. Kiera - Betsy White, 5. Chair - Sofa and Chair Company, 6. Nail Polish - Essie, 7. Peach Cupcakes - Week of Menus, 8. Room - Design Sponge 9. Dress - Bhldn 10. Flower - Gardens of Whimsy 11. Cake - Sweet & Saucy Shop 12. Brooch - Sumiko Handmade Creations

This is a beautiful colour scheme. Don’t get overwhelmed, and try to enjoy every minute of the engagement. I have found that while in the planning process, and looking through inspiration pictures for 2 months now, I have been able to find things that help narrow down the colours I want. Being late summer/fall would be nice to have a darker colour scheme. I am doing dark purple/gold with pastel accents.
Good luck!

xo Leah.

oh, Camille, I feel your pain. I think I changed my mind on the overall look of our wedding four times throughout the planning process. Once you settle on a date and color theme then the rest will fall into place. I created a whole folder (this was before I knew of Pinterest) with ideas for all the details and once I found my dress, I went back and filtered through all the pics to really narrow everything down. Just remember - it’s all going to look gorgeous together, no matter what you decide on! And this peach and blue combo is a perfect distraction:)

I love this color combination, this might be the first time Ive seen it or that its really caught my eye. I fell in love with that Kiera Knightly photo too…love that sweater and dress look! WOW love that hair flower and the cake too!

Its still very early in your engagement and you should look and change your mind as many times as you want…I would say in about 2-3 months is when you should start to narrow things down with color and ideas. The more you look now, the more ideas you will have to be able to set your own. Think about what your tastes are, dislikes, and like you said play with the season that your wedding date will be in.

If you like these colors maybe add in a subtle dark navy throughout that might bring in the richness of the late summer, fall date….or maybe even a bronze color.

My best advice as a planner is to really look at the colors you live in; the color of your clothes, furniture and rooms. The colors that you live in most likely will denote the colors you are most comfortable in for your wedding. Likewise, if all your rooms are beige or white and you hate them, then you know you need a good dose of color for your wedding!

Wow those colors are brilliant together. If you ask me, those colors would be great at any time of year. And congratulations on your engagement! Your fiance is lucky to be with such a talented person with great taste!

Yummy color palette! Reminds me of the first days of spring, blue birds, and peaches. It’s lovely. Even if you don’t go with it for your big day, it’s still lovely to think about!

I was actually looking for peach/blue color combo for a twins baby shower I’m throwing for my best friend and came across this. SO beautiful! I’m going to keep it as inspiration for decorations, cake, etc, for the shower. Thank you and good luck with wedding planning! Get a wedding planner book/journal to get started. That was a lifesaver for me! Ones that have pages for inspiration that you can just stick on there are great. I had an early October wedding and my colors were gold and chocolate brown….like this. http://www.theperfectpalette.com/search/label/Gold
