Blogger Holiday Traditions: Tina of Sequins, Plaids & Paws and Magalie of the Demoiselle

by jacin on December 20, 2011

To finish up the day of posts, we have the super sweet Tina of Sequins, Plaids & Paws to start up the finale.

Since being with my husband in 2007 [and marrying him this year], I’ve been trying to create new traditions for us to enjoy together. When we moved in together, I had finally found a way of making a holiday tradition we could look back on every year… and it’s taking pictures of our pets in front of our tree! Every year our little fur-family had grown bigger and bigger and I took pictures every year on Christmas day to show how our tree changed and our family grew. The first year it was us and our cat, Hitchcock, so I took a picture of Hitch in front of our first Christmas tree together.

The next year we added our boston terrier, Riddle to our family! It was impossible to get the cat and dog next to eachother so just Riddle under the tree was enough for me!

And than the next year, in 2010, we added a second dog to our family… Lando! That year I may have went a little over board and took a picture of both my dogs together in Christmas pajamas.

This year it is my goal to take a picture of my husband and I WITH our fur babies! All 3 of them! Yes the cat too. It’s a silly little tradition that means the world to me and hope to continue it one day when we have kids and have them pose with our animals in front of the tree. Our animals are our babies so this is a tradition I’ll forever cherish :)

And last but not least, the lovely Magalie of The Demoiselle.

Happy Holidays everyone! I am so excited to be stopping by Lovely Little Details today. I’m a sucker for finishing touches and Jacin is always showcasing particularly lovely ones here. Which leads me to the things I love most about the holiday season…

Decorations
I may be an accessories blogger but I have a major weakness for all things décor-related. This time of year gives me the perfect excuse to make my home especially pretty. As a bonus the hubby loves Christmas as much as I do so I get no argument about girly colors or glitter.

This year we’ve decided to go modern, simple, and sparkly of course!

My modern square vases have a softer look once filled with ornaments. I went monochromatic for effect…

My Carlo Contin Satellite bowl now holds glittered pinecones…

My vintage-style French liquor coasters and dessert plates always make an appearance during the holidays. They’ve been a favorite for years!

Party Purses
More often than not my clutch collection keeps my stilettos company so it’s wonderful to show them off at holidays parties and get-togethers. These may get heavy rotation…

Music
My final and favorite seasonal finishing touch is holiday music. It’s sentimental, sweet and sometimes super cheesy but I love it all! I’ll leave you with one of the very best:

Pets. Pets in front of trees. Pets in pajamas in front of trees? Then it gets better with sweet Magalie’s gorg decor? Love those monochromatic baubles!
