Bride Guide: Foolproof Bling for Your Honeymoon

I am crediting Dancy for the idea behind today’s installment of the Bride Guide, she actually did this on her honeymoon and I thought it was genius!!
So you’re headed on your honeymoon, and whether near or far, or how extravagant your vacation may be, you might still find yourself worrying about the security of your engagement ring and wedding band during your trip.  Well, if you are really worried about it, and think you might end up leaving the rings behind in the safe one day (or at all), and you’re scared of theft, you should do what my good friend Dancy did: buy a replica ring set and leave your real rings safely at home!

At times during our honeymoon in Hawaii, I wished I had done this because I ended up snorkeling with my left hand in a fist to make sure my rings wouldn’t come off, as I was too afraid to leave them behind in the hotel safe.  I have never really taken my rings off and I wasn’t about to start a trend while on vacation!
glitzs.com - $35.99
You know you’ve seen them at Claire’s, Forever 21, and even TJ Maxx - and at such a low price, it totally makes sense to just grab a nice little “replica” set of your own.  While nothing will ever replace the real set, these decoy rings will be the perfect stand-in and you won’t be heartbroken if they sink to the bottom of the ocean!
Thanks Dancy for the great idea!

fantastic idea. my set looks JUST like the glitz one too.

(I lol'd b/c I did a lot of left handed "fist" activities too in fear of losing my bling)

Great idea Dancy and Jacin! My husband actually proposed on the beach and I was so nervous of wearing the ring right after when we went swimming! Goodness! <3

I have a back up ring for almost all trips I go one. My ring is literally irreplaceable. It's been in my guy's family since the early 1900's. I think it'd be grounds to leave me if I ever lost it!

So don't judge me but before I was engaged my best friend and I decided it would be fun to try on wedding dresses but we wanted to look the part. So we went to Kohl's to buy fake rings. They were 8 bucks and exactly the same! Ha! We never made it to the dress shop but I definitely thought about taking it on my honeymoon- only problem is I have NO idea what happened to it. My sister in law bought a fake set when she got pregnant and her fingers swelled too much wear her actual set.

those shoes rock my socks off. for reals.

Hah! Thanks chica! I guess you could categorize it as smart. Personally it's just because I'm so lame-brained that I didn't want to lose them on vacation. LOL I will never travel with my real set. I've heard too many horror stories. It's also great for other things too - like when you might be out & a little inebriated and chilly so your rings might be loose?? (hint: Hoboken St. Patty's day much?)

One thing I would NOT recommend? Wearing them in the water - depending on the quality of the "feaux" ring. I bought a cheap set from ICING. One of the bands started to turn my finger green after a while in the salt water. Hahaha

I've never thought about that before!!! Good thinking. I will definitely take into consideration whenever my future honeymoon is.
