Floral Spotlight: Silver Brunia
simple + pretty

One of my favorite lovely little details for inclusion in floral arrangements is the silver brunia (also known as brunia laevis).  Silver brunia plays a supporting role to provide a subtle contrast and texture, and makes the other flowers “pop” by adding a muted gray hue.

Although flowering time is typically between August and February, you can definitely obtain this accent throughout the year if you look hard enough, and as such an inexpensive addition, it is so worth it!

Some lovely shots of the silver brunia in action below:

And lastly, look how well they preserve!  (My wedding bouquet, 3 months later) :)

I love how just a touch of gray can add such a pretty accent to each bouquet, and on their own with just a bit of greenery, could be a perfect boutonniere.

I'm so happy you posted this, I've always seen them all over in the yellow and being the flower novice that I am had no idea they're available in silver as well. Love it! And I'm really feeling the new design too.

Love the new header!! Congrats! <3 I was scrolling down and was going to name a few of my favorite bouquets, but they are all so beautiful. One of my fav is the yellow one…loves those yellow craspedia (billy balls) too, they make for lovely accents in bouquets. Love your bouquet and how well it lasted 3 months later!
