Once in a while you come across weddings that express so much love that it overshadows everything else. Today is one of those days. Taylor and Russell are a match made in heaven and on a warm summer day in August, they said their vows in front of friends and family and became husband and wife. With images by Julie Roberts Photography, we are in a real treat for some serious prettiness today {and keep reading, because we have an interview with the bride and groom, too!}
How did you meet? We met through Young Life in Knoxville and mutual friends at the University of Tennessee.
How did he propose? On the morning of March 6, 2011 Russell came over to pick me up. He had planned a day of all my favorites! We began by walking what I call “the loop” in Farragut. It is about a 2 and 1/2 mile route through Fox Den where I grew up. The weather was beautiful plus we got some exercise. Next we went to a cute little Deli called Webster’s. I had the Chicken Salad Cranberry sandwich, which was incredible. We sat and talked about life and what the next few years would look like. Then he took me to get my nails done, because I broke one of my nails, and we were going to the Cancer Gala that night. Girl Emergency! Next we headed home so I could begin to get ready for the Gala. A couple hours later, I heard a knock on the door and he was standing there with one of my favorite flowers, lilies. He looked so handsome, and I was so excited to spend the evening at the Cancer Gala with him. Dinner was fabulous and consisted of filet, asparagus, and garlic potatoes. We had a blast dancing to a fabulous band! After we were so tired from dancing, I was sitting with my family watching the crowd. Russell then asked me if we could go see the terrace outside. After telling him I was tired and wanted to sit, he finally convinced me to go with him. I got my coat and off we went! Thank goodness I did! There was a fireplace outside, and it was beautiful chilly night. We sat in front of the fireplace overlooking the water, and he read me a letter that I will have for the rest of my life. My heart started beating fast and before I knew it we were both sobbing. His words were so touching and kind, and with tears falling down both of our faces he asked me to marry him! I said YES! He is the most wonderful man I know!
What was the most exciting moment of your wedding day? The most exciting moment was when the church doors opened and we saw each other for the first time. Russell had tears in his eyes and a glowing smile. I could not wait to get down the aisle to be with him. The whole time I was thinking I am marrying the most wonderful man I know! And I definitely had butterflies!
Any details about choosing your dress? The dress was solid lace with a sweetheart neckline. It also had beading and a champagne sash that was sewn around the waist. It was a Casabalanca dress. This designer let me piece together my favorite aspects of several dresses to make my “dream” dress.
One of my favorites!
Congratulations Taylor and Russell - thank you for sharing your fairytale day with us!

What a GORGEOUS wedding-I’m such a sucker for classics, and these two are just such a perfect match!
Still so heartwarming to see a traditional wedding! And their story is just wonderful. What are those little silver trinkets with “trust, “love,” etc. engraved on them? Intriguing…and will surely be treasured keepsakes for their marriage.
