Today’s visitors in the Bloggers {Unveiled} series are two of the sweetest people ever - Nick and Aleah Valley of Valley & Co - a San Diego-based event planning husband and wife duo making life prettier one day at a time. Their impeccable style never ceases to amaze me and I’m so happy to have them visiting today!
Blogger {Unveiled}:
How did you get started in the wedding world?
We officially got started in 2003 after a very detailed and fun planning process with our own wedding. We came together during the planning but also focused individually on what was most important to each of us. Nick worked with our amazing band while Aleah focused on floral and décor. We planned during our senior year at university and balanced it all because we worked together. It was such a great way to enter into our marriage together and we both wouldn’t have changed a thing. Back in college we were both involved with events and we’ve always had a knack for entertaining {even at a young age} so we feel as though it was meant to be!
What is your makeup staple?
Aleah: I am an Aveda girl all the way. From hair products to my lotions and makeup it makes my skin feel so good. I can’t leave the house without my Hydrating Lip Glaze in wineberry. Nick can’t leave without a dash of his subtly scented cologne from a little shop on Bond Street in London.
What’s one thing that others don’t know about you?
Aleah: your readers likely don’t know that my eyes are blue but one is half brown!
Nick: one of my goals is to swim in every sea in the world.
What’s one piece of advice you would give to others trying to get started with their own business?
People ask us this a lot. Live your passion but trust your instincts. Especially in creative business it’s so key to keep yourself grounded and balanced. Set a strict schedule so that your personal life and business life won’t start to clash. Listen to others and don’t stop learning. We are always taking in bits of business advice, inspiration, and words of wisdom from our peers and we keep our eyes open for inspiration wherever we are. Keep good company. Surround yourself with only positive people in the wedding industry. After all, we are in the business of celebration. There’s no room for negativity.
What is your favorite part about weddings?
The total joy they bring to our couples and their families. At the end of the night when everyone, old and young, is out on the dance floor everything else melts away. The result is a simply unforgettable celebration and the start of a beautiful life together.
What is your hobby outside of blogging {is there life outside blogging} :)?
Well we hope there is! We also run our wedding planning and design offices in Seattle and San Diego and run a second blog: Lifestyle By Valley & Co., which is great fun. While our work isn’t a hobby, we love it! We enjoy entertaining, hanging out with our families and friends, golfing, snorkeling, and love, love to travel. You can find us in our spare time relaxing and rejuvenating on the beach!
Happy Friday everyone!

I am such a fan of these two! I wish everyday that my hubby can be a team partner with me in weddings! But with a hubby in the marines, weddings don’t fit in the persona! I love valley and co. because they are one of the best to look towards for events and hosting parties! :-)
Love these two! Thanks for featuring them!
Sounds like a couple who knows how to really make things work (personally and professionally)! What a neat occupation!
