One last day of guest bloggers as I take Steph & Robin around town in San Francisco (and Napa, and beyond!), and so excited that today’s guest is none other than the crafty little lady behind Emmaline Bride - Emma! Please give her a warm welcome!
Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be a guest blog at Lovely Little Details today! I’m Emma, the Editor of Emmaline Bride: The Wedding Guide for the Handmade Bride. I recently had the privilege of being the Matron of Honor at my best friend’s wedding. She is a crafty, DIY diva and decided to handcraft many of her wedding day details including the bouquets. (She also handmade her wedding cake – and did an AMAZING job – but that’s another story for another day.) She selected her favorite silk flowers – blue hydrangeas – bunched them together and secured with a light blue satin ribbon to complement her decor. They looked lovely! This was an easy-to-DIY project which provided a lasting keepsake after the big day. She has them on display in her home and mine sit in a mason jar on my desk in the office. :)
So, it got me thinking: I am sure there are plenty of brides out there who would also love to save the bouquet after the wedding (and avoid the dreaded “flower bouquet throwaway” moment). My friend used silk but I am here today to showcase another alternative: paper flowers. Paper flowers are made of crepe paper, tissue, paper mache, construction paper, etc. and look so real – you will hardly believe they are made of paper. And, they last forever! I’ve created a round-up of paper flowers to send some inspiration your way…
