weekend update: peonies, driftwood arch building, c&c’s wedding & more peonies {iPhone photo dump}

whoa. that’s my one word to sum up this past weekend. it was a complete and total whirlwind and i loved every moment. as I mentioned last friday, this past weekend was C&C’s big day and LLD was handling all of the flower design, event styling and logistics, and it was one of the biggest events of the year design/decor/florals-wise. I built a driftwood arch for the lovely couple at the bride’s request - something I never thought I would be adding to my resume, but it turned out just as I had hoped and more importantly, the bride and groom were floored when they saw it! it was super windy but thankfully the arch and decor stayed put - my worst nightmares included the driftwood arch falling apart right after the B&G said “we do”. and I honestly could not have done this wedding alone, and my amazing assistant Jessica played such an important part in the day coming together perfectly - her eye for detail and styling is one that I appreciate so very much!!

here’s a little more insight in to the pics above:

* besides C&C’s wedding, I had a few more floral orders to get out the door last week so I was at the flower mart almost every morning, bright and early (4am). I love early mornings at the flower mart!

* a great deal of last week was spent prepping for C&C’s wedding - from drawing up the design map to wiring masons for hanging planters to getting all of the blooms ready for arrangements.

* C&C didn’t have a bridal party but they did honor several family members with boutonnieres & wristlets, which I had a great time making

* I had about a hundred peonies that needed to be put in arrangements for their wedding. I was surrounded by the prettiest shades of coral/yellow and totally in love.

how was everyone else’s weekend? do anything fun for memorial day? hope you had a great one! see you back here later this week.

    Working your magic as usual I see! I love that drift wood arch…amazing! Rhody is just so adorable!! What a great idea to save money for everyone, no wedding party! Love the idea of honoring certain family and friends though. Looks like a gorgeous day! Congrats! xoxo
