Floral Spotlight: Sweet Juliet Roses

I mentioned these lovelies back in a post about peony alternates, but I have to bring them up again in today’s floral spotlight. I am not a rose person per se, but I do love love love these juliet roses, otherwise known as english roses, because they are so light and fluffy with so much delicate texture, much like a peony!
Sweet Juliet Roses are true to their name and have a sweet scent, and flower in Fall and Summer. With their apricot/pink color, they are a perfect focal point for any bouquet (and the larger blooms can go a long way, reducing the number of flowers needed to fill the arrangements!)
But enough chit-chat; let’s take a look at some of my favorite images of these sweet juliet roses hard at work:

These are SO pretty!! I didn't know what they were until I saw you mentioning them a few weeks ago.. I had always assumed they were some sort of ranunculus! This could convert me to a rose lover for sure!

Beautiful.. they are such a great replacement for peonies (which I adore). Just might be using these ;)
I'm not a big fan of these. They look too big and awkward in bouquets with other (smaller) flowers, on their own or in a boutonniere.
If we have a daughter we are going to name her Juliette so this post just makes me very very happy.

I absolutely ADORE English roses, and I think they're the best of both worlds-peonies and roses in one! I'm with Erin, too-the bouquet with chamomile is too sweet!
I love those inspiration phtos! I'd say that roses are far superior to peonies in scent and durability (roses don't wilt as quickly, don't drop petals as easily, and don't have ants crawling all over them), though they're equally pretty. I'll be having English roses in my wedding bouquet!

NOTE TO ALL INTERESTED: make SURE your florist(s) allot time for these babies to open up!!
Mine didn't - they were mostly tight. Our bouquets were lovely the day of my wedding, but the day after (when the roses had opened fully) they were spectacular!!
