It has been so long since my last real wedding post, because I’ve been working away and am just getting images back to show! Brit & Sean were the sweetest couple, and so laid back. Brit had the patience of a saint, especially as the bride-to-be, as her venue had to be changed just weeks from her wedding date. She was able to pick up the pieces and move everything to the Garden Court Hotel in Palo Alto. A month or so before her big day, she reached out to me to see if I was still available, and luckily between my associate, Chelsea, who managed the day-of, and myself, we were able to meet quickly and talk about a new game plan based on Brit’s new venue. We ordered specialty linens from La Tavola to bring a pop of color to cocktail hour (it was Cinco De Mayo, after all), but kept the rest of the color palette very clean and natural, with white and green florals, accented with color bursts via coral charm peonies, pink anemones, and, as a nod to derby day, mint leaves in the bridesmaid bouquets. There were so many little details throughout their big day to really tell their story, and it all tied in together just as the couple had hoped. Per request, I incorporated golf tees in to the groom’s boutonniere to tie in to the golf stamp that was used on all the paper goods (that the bride made herself, no less). We also hung pale white papel picado to bring the cinco de mayo feel back to the dessert station, and the bride hand painted all of the table numbers in to the prettiest shade of gold to match the touch of glamour from the gold chiavari chairs.
Oh, and there was a surprise “flash mob” that Brit’s mother coordinated with a local dance group, and worked with me and my team to get them in just on cue. That was such a fun, unexpected surprise for everyone that kept the night going; but not gonna lie, it was so hard not to say anything to the bride by accident through the planning! And with the talented Brooke Beasley behind the lens to capture it all, we knew we were in good hands when it came to the images. Here are some of my faves from their big day. You can see more in the gallery :)
Brit was so easygoing about everything, including the florals - but her biggest request for her own bouquet? Peonies. Lots and lots of white, fluffy peonies. And lots and lots of peonies she received!
And for the groom? Simple, white, and golf-inspired :)
Those papel picados were such a pretty touch for the dessert table. All of the desserts were made by Brit’s family. I love when that happens.
Thank you Brit & Sean for choosing to work with us on your big day - it was an absolute honor!
