i hate getting purple teeth from red wine! there’s no solution, except to just drink white. but today pat and i are going to the famous ZAP (zinfandel advocates & producers) 19th annual zinfandel festival, where over 200 winerys will pour their favorite zinfandel for tastings.
to clarify, zinfandel is a variety of red grape planted in over 10% of california vineyards. the grapes typically produce a robust red wine with lots of fruit forward and jammy flavor. it is sometimes mistaken for it’s italian twin, primativo.
this is not what you’re probably thinking (see below), which is the white zinfandel which my mom loves and is actually the top selling wine in the country. we’re going for the reds today folks!
