fall inspiration series part 1: the cake!
by jacin on November 15, 2010
over the next week or so i will do a series of posts on fall inspiration featuring the cakes, flowers, cake toppers, placecards, decor, centerpieces, paper, etc. even though it doesn’t feel like fall here in san francisco, i can still feel myself getting in to the holiday spirit that usually comes this time of year, brought on when the leaves start changing, the skies turn gray, and you get to bring the hoodies and blankets back out from the closets again.
today i want to start off with the cake - something i usually don’t like to eat (i’m a salt/savory person!) but if you put a red velvet cake in front of me, i might change my mind :)
for those fortunate brides planning a fall wedding, inspiration is not limited! there are so many gorgeous images out there to help spark the imagination - and to get you going, here are a few of my favorites:

PS - you might notice that i have a domain set up now. if you go to www.jacinpage.com or www.jacinfitzgerald.com, it will take you here :). i am slowly working on a new name, too, so stay tuned for more updates :)

I love the 'birds' in the first cake.. it's all so festive :)
I love the first cake. I had a really hard time deciding between a Fall or Winter wedding.
We had a red velvet wedding cake YUM!!!!!
Too pretty to eat!! The last one looks more like a plant or a work of art then something edible. I LOVE the 3rd cake.
There is a whole lot of pretty wedding cake in this post! And I LOVE it! That second to last cake (the one that looks like the trunk of a birch tree) is phenomenal! Great post!
Wow these are just gorgeous! Love the eucalyptus one! Also the woodland cakes are so pretty too. And yes, our Mrs. Sparkle and Hay would just have to love the last one! I love it for it's originality…perfectly rustic!

I love cake, period, but I definitely lean toward super simple so I'm loving the one that looks like it's encrusted with coconut shavings. yum!
