does your ring have a story?

by jacin on December 2, 2010

from my mom: “Your father was so excited and nervous when he picked out my ring that he walked right out of the store without paying for it. Luckily the store jeweler was right next to Page’s {our family hardware store} and knew Dad was a safe bet.”

there’s so much more to the ring than just a pretty accessory (of course).  i love to hear the stories about rings, it brings them so much more to life and creates sentimentality.  so does your ring have a story?  if so, i’d love to hear it; i am working on a post about unique and special stories behind the ring and would love to feature a few special gems!
if interested, contact me with a photo (as clear as you have, for the married ladies, professional pics with credits would be great) and a quick paragraph on your story (just like my mom did above).
i’ve already received a few, so i can’t wait to hear the rest!

I don't really have one for mine - other than the one I told you on FB.

I love your mom's story. But you might get a kick outta my Mom's story: My Dad proposed to her on Christmas Eve. She said Yes. BUT - my mom's not big on jewelry & apparently the ring my Dad proposed with was kinda big, so she told my father, "I can't wait to marry you - but this ring's huge! Can we get a smaller one?" LMAO!

I can't wait to read some ring stories. I love them. I don't officially have a ring story but I wear a white gold with a sapphire and two diamond ring that his great, great, great grandma wore. We have a picture of her wearing it when you walk in our condo. I still get scared when I wear it. It's so precious to lose.

how cute!!! I would give you my story… but its crazy and stressful haha. I finally got a lovely ring, but the jewelers sure made it one hell of a process.

My husband did good!

We love a good ring story! My diamond was given to Nick from my mom + dad and Nick had my platinum setting made in Italy via the oldest jeweler in Seattle. He did such a great job!

Aww, your poor dad! Haha!
PS — I'll totally have to send you a pic of my ring. Didn't think about it to go with my LONG story. ;)
