Floral Spotlight: Chrysanthemums {Part 1 - Football Mums}

by jacin on February 7, 2011

Football mums can be found almost year-round and are a perfect filler for bouquets and centerpieces.  They can be found in many colors and because of their large size, are perfect to increase the size of your arrangement in an inexpensive way!

Here’s some of my favorites!

These football mums might not be the spotlight but they’re a perfect, soft filler.

These are very beautiful flowers! I love that they are inexpensive and pretty much year round. Win/win!! And your bouquets…wow. What are the little ball-y things in yours? (Flowers are not my forte)

so true! I used dinnerplate dahlias for our wedding and they are about the same size as these mums. They really fill out centerpieces and a single flower can be a bouquet for a bridesmaid. Great post:)

I always love your inspiration pictures! I had never heard of these flowers before…are they good at not wilting too quickly? Isn't that often the complaint of other big, fluffy flowers (e.g. peonies and garden roses)? As you can see, I know nothing about flowers. LOL

@Miss Puppy Love - yes, they last forever (and hold true to their shape, too!)
