Once strangers in an airport en route to the same vacation spot, now a married couple living in Chicago, Lisa and David are a perfect example of fate. Their paths crossed at just the right time in life and their love story is straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. They actually traveled down to Louisville for this shoot and spent the evening hanging out with their photographers, husband and wife duo Eric and Deanna of Deanna Kaye Photography, while getting some unique shots. Scroll down a bit to read about how they met, and their lovely proposal, as told by Lisa.
Their story, as told by Lisa:
We met in March of 2004 in an airport on our way to the same vacation spot. Once at the vacation spot, we ran into each other again and fell in love. From then on, we were inseparable. It became our tradition to take a vacation each year since that’s what brought us together. In March of 2010 we had decided to take our annual vacation to Aruba. While on the trip, David had asked me if I would mind going to a private dinner with him one evening to celebrate our six year anniversary from the time we first met. Of course I said yes, but had no idea what was in store as I thought we were going to have a quiet dinner to celebrate our dating anniversary. When it was time to go to dinner, he walked me through the hotel and down to the beach. As we walked, I saw us moving further and further away from the hotel and the restaurants…I had no clue as to where we were going! After taking a few more steps down the beach, I noticed a small tent in the distance, very close to the waters edge. As we got closer I noticed a dinner table and candles set up under the tent with a butler waiting to greet us. At this time I was so suprised….but not because I thought he was going to propose, more because it was such a beautiful scene and it was such a nice gesture that he had put together to make our anniversary special. We sat down and began chatting and looking over the menus as normal. But the next thing I know he is on one knee by my chair asking me to marry him! Everything after that was very fuzzy as there were many happy tears (on my side) and many sighs of relief (on his side) as we called our family and friends to share the good news. We enjoyed six wonderful months of engagement before we were married on September 4th, 2010.
Oh, and I couldn’t resist including just a few wedding pictures, since I was dying to see them myself! Here’s a link to Deanna Kaye Photography’s blog to see the rest.
Congratulations Lisa and David, wishing you all the best in your future together! Thank you Deanna for sharing these images with us!
