Sweet, Old Fashioned Love: Colin & Mary {Shutter Candy Photography}

Oh my gosh. Seriously? Could these two be any more adorable? Doesn’t this picture just remind you of a Mad Men era couple in the suburbs? Mary just has the sweetest face, and that hair? Gorgeous! Then there’s Colin, the handsome groom-to-be. These two are just too cute for words. But we know I rarely run out of words, right? {all lovely images via Shutter Candy Photography}

In true high-school-sweetheart fashion Colin Dean Thomas and Mary Dana Reding met five years ago on a Thursday, had their first date on Friday, shared their first kiss on Saturday, and by Sunday had decided they were in love. The two have been inseparable ever since.

The bride-to-be always has her nose stuck in a book, which seems appropriate as she will graduate from college this spring with a degree in English. Verifiable proof that opposites attract - the groom recently graduated with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. The two plan to live happily ever after in West Des Moines, Iowa with two schnauzers and plenty of baked goods.

The Proposal:

Colin, always the gentleman, asked Mary’s parents for their blessing and bought the ring on a Sunday. He had planned an elaborate proposal involving the entire family for the following weekend. However, by Wednesday the ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he just couldn’t wait any longer. So he sprung it on her, as she was scrubbing the bathroom sink. Needless to say Mary was quite shocked and it took a bit for things to sink in. The ring, of course, convinced her that he was very serious and she said yes, then had to wash the bleach off her hands so he could put it on.

See what I mean? Aren’t they just adorable? I couldn’t even pick a favorite picture!
