weekend update: birthday cakes, photoshoots & confetti {iphone photo dump}

this weekend was a total blur - from back to back bride meetings on friday, shuffling for a new venue for one couple in particular, a flower mart trip and then birthday celebrations and a special shoot - not sure where the time went but at least it was spent in a fun way, right?

this past week:

~ we drank celebratory martinis on our new coffee table with pat, who passed his final CPCU exam! he’s been taking these tests for the past 2 years, and his hard work has finally paid off!

~ we finally purchased our new coffee table and end tables from world market, as a shared birthday present for the two of us. our apartment looks less like a jumbled frat house now, which is awesome :)

~ i went to the flower mart to pick up blooms for a very special photoshoot

~ i picked up my custom glitter cake pops from Sweet Lauren Cakes for my birthday. red velvet, please. they were just as good as they look, too :)

~ rhody received a special package in the mail and looked oh so dapper in his birthday bow tie from oatmeal lace

~ i received a package in the mail from my new jersey friends: a dozen bagels and 2 packages of taylor ham! amazing.

~ my friend had a custom cake made for my birthday: in the shape of an andy capps hot fries bag!!! best. cake. ever.

~ i designed some pretty invites (along with styling & florals) for a fun valentines shoot with glitter guide. taylor sterling, the lovely girl behind the blog, asked me to be in the shoot too. that was a little intimidating, but fun too. i felt totally out of my element with all of these fashion bloggers, but they were sweet as can be and i really enjoyed myself!

~ speaking of the glitter guide shoot, i spray painted some masons in different shades of pink, and added gold striped washi tape for a lovely little detail. the masons were a big hit! i was trying to create a “colorblock” effect with red/pink flowers mixed with the pink masons, and it worked out well. i also added some gold glitter to the flowers, which was a detail that didn’t go unnoticed.

~ after all the madness i spent the rest of my birthday on the couch, eating leftovers, drinking champagne, and cozy in our apartment with the rain tapping on the windows outside. it was a perfect day.
