Things I love: authenticity, real people, candid moments, love, and non-posed pictures. Today’s post combines all of these things in to one perfect little engagement session, with two people who are as real as it gets - oh, and pretty awesome too. And aren’t they gorg? I kind of love everything about them. That’s ok, right? Steph and Scot are two people who you can tell are just meant to be, and though I have never met them, I do feel somewhat like I know them by now, because I have been following Steph’s blog, Forget Me Knot, for what seems like forever! So now, let’s take a look at these lovely images from Anni Cee Photographie {and keep reading, because you know I wouldn’t give you an engagement shoot without the couple’s story, right? Steph hooked us up today, so keep reading!}
From Steph: Scot and I originally met kind of randomly - we were each visiting friends in New York during the summer of 2007, and our two closest friends happened to be dating at the time (still are!). We briefly connected that weekend through our friends, then reconnected a few weeks later when Scot found me on Facebook. At the time, I was living in Philadelphia and he was living outside of Baltimore; it took a while for us to finally meet up, but an Orioles game proved to be a good excuse for a trip down to Maryland and a first date. I always laugh at our first date story because I am a big baseball fan, while Scot pretty much loathes the sport. The fact that he bought us tickets to the game and actually feigned interest is super impressive, in retrospect! I ended up spending the night at his place since it was late after the game ended, and we just snuggled and watched TV for most of the night. I left the next morning with a hug and a goodbye.. the butterflies in my stomach were uncontrollable! We started seeing each other almost weekly after that, and were in a long distance relationship for a year. In the summer of 2008, I moved down to Maryland from Philadelphia, and together we moved just outside of DC.
We really love the life we’ve made and are continually making for ourselves in Maryland. One of the great things about the town we live in now is the weekly farmer’s market; since we discovered it, we make sure to go down almost every week. I love that we had the opportunity to have Anni take pictures with us doing something we love to do - walk around town on a lazy Saturday morning, buy fresh produce, and window shop. Scot and I couldn’t be more pleased with how these engagement pictures came out!
Are they not the sweetest things ever??
And last but not least, one of my favorite shots :)
Happy Thursday, everyone!!
