i have a confession for you. please don’t judge me. my wedding garter was from victoria’s secret. phew - i said it! the garter was a total afterthought, something i never really considered to be that big of a deal. but i think that’s because i had no idea about La Gartier Wedding Garters. do you see the swiss dot detail on the one up top? or the pretty velvet ribbon on the one right below? i am in love.
From their site: La Gartier is a custom, hand-made garter company dedicated to creating entirely unique, one-of-a-kind wedding garters. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, La Gartier was founded upon the belief that just as every bride has her own personality, style, and identity-so should her garter. From hand picked fabrics to vintage jewelry, to Swarovski crystal rhinestones and hand sewn initials, each La Gartier garter is truly inspired. With quality, beauty, and sophistication in mind, La Gartier garters are not just another wedding accessory-they are a statement.
i think one of my favorite things about La Gartier Wedding Garters, besides the gorgeous design and keepsake boxes, is that the owner, Sarah Dobson, started the company after designing an initial batch of custom garters for friends ready-to-wed. Sarah later founded La Gartier as a business in the fall of 2009 and has grown her business today, reaching brides from Los Angeles to New York. obviously i’m biased, because i love when girls go out there and make. things. happen. and Sarah is doing exactly that. she’s no joke, either - take a look at some of my faves from their ever-expanding collection:
and once the big day has come and gone, she even has these gorgeous keepsake boxes (for only $10 - a total steal) to keep your garter well protected through the years until it can be passed down as a special heirloom.
if you are looking in to custom garters for your big day, Sarah also provides personalized service and can create something completely one-of-a-kind based on your preferred fabric and color preference. support a local girl who is making things happen and purchase your gorgeous garter at La Gartier - you will not be disappointed!! find her on facebook, visit her blog or website, sent her a tweet and tell her i said hi, or see what she’s pinning these days.
happy thursday!

if i could do it all over again… i would so get more creative with my garter!
these are to die for! i already made my own garter (that took some serious time as i’m no seamstress) but if i had seen these, i would have definitely went this route.
oh my gosh what gorgeous garters! what i love most is the keepsake box! id love one for mine from a year ago! lol
My husband’s mom made mine for our wedding, but I too LOVE La Gartier’s work!!! So pretty!!!
So pretty! I can only expect to re-live that time in my life when my daughter gets married sometime (she is 21) - I somehow feel that I should keep this info for a later date..

Thanks so much for writing about my company Jacin! I really appreciate the kind words. It encourages me to have another latte and sit here at Starbucks for another six hours on my computer. JK. Not really.
